The meat has always been pre-packed at the Co-operative. I assume it was done on site and not somewhere else.
Double edge.
Sorry that someone is losing their job.
Happy for the Silsden independent butchers.

Co-op meat has always been high quality, so hopefully that will not change, but even the supermarkets have in house butchers available, so there must be some reason they are there...good customer service?

Since its Lancastrian takeover the Co-op has gone downhill as its prices have gone through the roof

this post has been edited 1 time(s)

But it's the same Yorkshireman in charge of the company as when it was Yorkshire Co-op wink ;)

Anyway back on topic.... The butcher at Silsden Co-op has been there since the days of the old Co-op building that once stood on the site of the current one. He has worked for them for many years before that so it is a shame that now he (and the other Butchers) are being made redundant.sad :(

Well I think the co op can withstand the loss of the meat counter, and in tern maybe more silsden folk will use our High Street Butchers who need the support more than the co op,I think people forget that we are very fortunate to have 3 quality butchers on our doorstep.

Plenty of excellant butchers in and around Silsden so let's hope they profit from this.
