Anyone know what dubious characters have bought this place. I say dubious based on illegal signs that have gone up. Wheelclamping not allowed now

I was wondering that as well, so I drove into the car park last night.

There is obviously someone living there as a 4X4 was parked and there was some washing hanging in the conservatory area, it looks like it is having some work done, but other than that there is no sign of what it is going to become.

I can't believe what I've just read!! Firstly, the sign quite clearly says private property which means this is no longer a car park, but a private driveway. Secondly, if someone is living there I'm sure they'll be happy to see you've just told everybody what car they drive!
How would you feel if someone drove up your driveway just to be nosey, I'd have had you arrested!!
I'm sure you'll find out what's happening when and if they want to tell you.

Arrested for what? There was not any criminal offence committed.

A 4X4, I suppose that really narrows it down.

Trespass is a civil offence. The police are powerless to deal with it. That's why you have to go to court to evict squatters or travellers.

So you drive on to property that is clearly marked as private and then proceed to tell everyone what you found. If someone drove up your driveway to be nosey and then posted on here what they saw I'm sure you would be outraged.

It's all just pedants splitting hairs. Strange that no one pointed out that the sign isn't in fact illegal, clamping would be illegal (but at a guess civil rather than criminal) but that trespass is a civil offence and not criminal. Have to say, the long and the short of it is, if I had paid for that land and property, I wouldn't want people using the railway station parking there all day (and there were regularly 5 or 6 cars all day) and I certainly wouldn't want people driving on to my land just for a look, a ridiculous taking of liberties there. How would you feel if someone walked into your garden, just for a look around?

They had a limited opening on the Friday before the tour - Bar only open. It has been modernised with Sky TV Sports in the main room. They say it will take 6-8 weeks to complete the rooms, etc. Staff need a bit more experience serving, but they will get there.Shame it did not keep to the old fashioned look inside, but that did not work previously! So good luck to them!
