Bradford Highways didn't like the idea because it would mean an excessive journey diversion for locally based HGVs.

STC have not given up the idea of getting HGVs banned from the centre of Silsden.

Just an excuse not to spend money on a traffic regulation order. Before the ban came into force in Steeton if I remember correctly concerns were raised about the Transport Cafe but it was pointed out that access was still allowed.

Yes. By-Pass is the only real solution. HGVs are only a very small % of the traffic volume in Kirkgate - the traffic crisis will only get worse and worse once all the new houses are built in Addingham, Ilkley & Silsden. Kirkgate is the only route between Airedale & Wharfedale......you ain't seen nothing yet!😕

As I see it the roads are not filled up with HGV|s moving or parked. The roads are filled up with cars both moving and parked.

So - if you want to eliminate traffic congestion then the main culprit, the car, needs to be removed from the road.

Ban cars - Vote for me _ ?????javascript:smileyInsert(topicform.message,%20'wink ;)');
