On Sunday 7 September the annual Leeds to Skipton Canal Walk will take place in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

The banks of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal provide the setting for this popular sponsored walk. There are eight checkpoints and you can start and finish at any of them, and walk in either direction.

Taking you through open countryside and industrial heritage sites, this walk along the canal is packed with beautiful scenery. Particularly fascinating landmarks include the famous five-rise locks at Bingley and the World Heritate Site of Saltaire village.

Leeds Canal Wharf to Rodley Swing Bridge: 6 miles
Rodley Swing Bridge to Dobson Lock, Apperley Bridge: 3 miles
Dobson Lock, Apperley Bridge, to Saltaire: 3 miles
Saltaire, to Canal Road, Cross Flatts, Bingley: 3 miles
Cross Flatts, Bingley, to Bridge Inn, Silsden: 6 miles
Bridge Inn, Silsden to Kildwick: 2 miles
Kildwick to Gallows Bridge, Skipton: 4 miles

Why not challenge yourself to do the full 29 mile walk! A free bus service will operate between Leeds and Skipton.
