Posted on behalf of Katrina

My beautiful cockatiel Smudgie escaped this morning! He is nearly 18 years old and is frightened of other birds so could have flown anywhere.

I live in Craven Avenue in one of the houses that backs onto Howden Road. He has managed to get through an open door and may have flown towards the canal/snugpak factory or towards New Close Mill Fold or those houses on the opposite side of the canal to snugpak.

Please could you keep an eye out for him. If he is still alive he probably won't step onto your hand as although he is reasonably tame he is very nervous - you may need to gently place a coat over him. If you find him and he's not alive, I'd like to collect him so I can bury him in the garden with his other birdy pals.

If you spot him please ring me on 07765 111461.

From Katrina

Thanks for the offer of posting on my behalf. I thought I had a photo of
him on my phone but it must be on the laptop, I'm sending you this while
I'm at work. Could you thank people for liking/sharing/commenting and say I'd still like to know
what happened to him so if anyone knows anything could they contact me.
