The Addingham Environment Group is holding it's Environment Weekend on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July.

This group has helped to transform the Addingham Environment and boasts a large membership from across the Addingham Community. The groups involvement ranges from litter picking to recording of wildlife (birds, butterflies, hedgehogs etc) through to moorland management to help reduce flooding and the clearing of invasive plants.

Silsden, its people, Councillors and community leaders could learn alot from attending the weekends activities. See info below which has been copied from the Groups advertising leaflet. This is a Community lead initiative run by very inspiring knowledgeable people.

Addingham Environment Group
We have a great weekend coming up
Addingham Environment Weekend:
Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July

Saturday morning 30th June, 10.00 – 13.00 in the Memorial Hall
Come and find out what the Environment Group has been doing this year and what our plans are for the future.
We’ll be looking at Addingham’s wildlife, how we can encourage sustainable housing, how we can manage our use of energy and what we are doing about pollution of different kinds.
Our theme this year is Health and Well Being
We’ll have some great guests for you to meet, crayfish, hedgehogs, killer shrimps and native owls as well as experts from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust, the Woodland Trust, Leeds University School of Biology and Heritage Wildflowers to name just a few.
And of course there will be lots of activities for the whole family.
The morning will be followed by a relaxing and fun afternoon at St Peter’s Fete in Church Field, 14.00-16.30.

Sunday afternoon 1st July, 14.00 – 17.00 Guided Environment Walk
We will have two parties, both starting at the Memorial Hall but with the first leaving at 14.00 and the second at 14.30. Bring the family and take a closer look at our interesting village first hand. Very easy walking with refreshments at the end: excellent for your Health and Well Being!
