Banklands Avenue - Silsden |
August 21, 2001 Avoiding road hazards in Silsden could become a regular occurance as Yorkshire Water's contractors Kenney's dig up our roads to reline the old water pipes. According to Kennedy's workmen they are relining the old pipes by breaking into the water mains at junction points. They can then clean the pipe and with a machine put a 2mm epoxy resin liner inside the pipe. The process causes some disruption locally for access and to the water supply but not half as much as digging a trench to replace the pipe. The process is supposed to last for 100 years! |
