GAS LEAK – Easter 2018

If you have no gas supply

  • Turn your gas supply off at the meter.
  • An engineer from Northern Gas Network will visit to ensure this has been done.

The network will be purged of all air and water and the gas supply will be restored in phases.

  • DO NOT turn the gas back on yourself, but wait for an engineer who will turn your supply back on and ensure your supply is safe and working correctly.

On behalf of the Town Council I would like to thank all those involved in the community effort to ensure the well being of everyone during recent events

We are grateful for NGN’s efficient handling of the situation and we are extremely proud of all the volunteers who came and helped.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the local businesses, hotels, sports club, churches, the library and town hall for going that extra mile.

We also wish to thank all the local social media sites and websites which did a sterling job of keeping us all informed.
