Silsden residents and businesses can find out next week how the Tour de France is likely to affect the town.

Ward councillors will give an update on plans for the famous cycle race to come through the town next July.

Silsden Town Council and St James’s Church will jointly host the public meeting at the church from 7 pm on Tuesday.

The organisations want to ensure Silsden residents make the most of the Tour’s Grand Depart, and that potential local issues are addressed.

Town and district councillor, Adrian Naylor, said there would be up-to-date information from discussions being held this week by organisations involved in the race.

He added: “We should also have a member of Bradford Council present to provide information.”
